Tyra Banks Hair

From : http://www.natural-hair-care-info.com/tyra-banks-hair.html

Tyra Banks Hair, Past, and Present

The real Tyra Banks hair length and color was a bit of a mystery until she shocked the world when she removed every piece of weave from her head and showed the world her real, dripping wet hair.I greatly admire her for her courage and for hitting so many milestones and covers of many magazines worldwide.

Why?
Why not?
Everyone’s heard the stories about woman who refuse to believe that the hair they spend hundreds of dollars on isn’t their real hair, and I deeply admire Tyra for being strong enough not to hide behind store bought hair.

This isn’t to put people down who wear extensions or weaves or any type of false hair, because there is nothing wrong with that. However, I think she should be respected for her courage.

At 11, a growth spurt turned Banks into "this tall beanpole freak all the girls would laugh at." She says at one of her interviews that, "I wasn't just skinny and tall; I was sick looking. If anybody called me skinny, I would just smile, then run into my room and burst out crying. It was a really unhappy time." Aww, poor Tyra.

It's a New Year, 2012!!

Glitter nails for the festivities. (I feel like such a girl! I haven't done this since I was nine. Lol.)
Happy 2012!!

This is my first post for the new year. O_o. Wow, there's so much to be expected for this year and I can't wait for what it has to offer, the good and the bad.

So...hair chronicles:
I tried the famous "Scarf Method" for the first time today. I really wanted to roller-set my hair for the first week of classes, but to no avail. My schedule was too tight and stomachs were growling, so I had to replenish the house with nourishment.

I can say (to no surprise), it works.
Ignore the impression the scarf made.
Look at those roots! Laying down and flat like I just got a relaxer yesterday. I will use that method until it no longer works.

Recently, I've had an itch to get a sew-in weave, a color, a tattoo on my back, and a tongue ring (today)! I have no idea why I wanted to all of these things and I probably won't do any in the near future. But, I know, it's just being young and reckless while I still am young.

During winter break,
I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time and it HURTS! By the end, I was flinching and grinding my teeth. I couldn't take the sound of the thread and the pulling any more but it looked amazing.

How you like them apples? Those things are arched!
So, I think threading is a superior method of choice for shaping brows because it gives more freedom to shape all-around the brow as opposed to a one-shot with a wax.

I had a cute bun for New Year's Eve!

Ooh! I have to show you guys my new add to my product collection.
Every time I saw it in the store, I thought "what a way to waste $5 on a product that does the same thing that some grease can do". I really did. I bought it over the break when I had some extra cash and I was surprised at how much it works! My baby hair slicks down and stays down. I like it because it 1) finishes off my look and 2) makes it seem as though I've put time and effort in to my appearance. Two thumbs up!

That is all I will slam you with. Let's enjoy 2012 and look good doing it, too!

Grandma's hair

If I ever had my grandmother's hair texture, I would go natural and stay natural!

She's a weirdo like me. Lol.

Hair Update

Hello! I finally have a little break to update my hair blog with some pics.

Here are some pics on my relaxer and officially hitting APL.

Currently:
I just got a relaxer during Thanksgiving break (~11 weeks since my previous touch-up). I waited a week before starting to co-wash again mid-week. Let me tell you, these winter months are making my scalp dry! I have never had dandruff before on this hair and I think it's due to two things:
1. this colder weather
2. I haven't been drinking as much water as I should.

So I'm going to start consuming more water during these months. And I'm going to really have to up my moisture regimen for my hair and my face.

This week, I wore two French braids for a couple days and yesterday for the last day of classes, I wore a cute syle. It kind of looks like Kimbella's curly to the side hairstyle on Love & Hip Hop.

I did things I wouldn't normally do for the last day of school: I wore make-up, ate breakfast in class, and actually "tried" to put effort in my wardrobe. I figure I would end the semester with a 'bang'. Lol.

Anyways, that is the update.

OVERALL UPDATE: Hair pictures

I haven't made a post in months!

Here are some pictures of what's been going with my hair since August.

I bought the High Beam temporary hair color spray. You just spray it and it gives color that washes or brushes off. I usually use it when I'm going out for an evening event and want to spice up my look without getting a permanent color.

This is new! I am finally APL. Took me forever, that's all I'm going to say.
